ep.5 La scintilla

Il boato è l'attimo che segue la scintilla. 

Uniamoci. Tocchiamoci. Siamo corpi elettrici, l'energia alimentata dalla rabbia circola in noi. Al minimo sfioramento causeremo l'esplosione. 

La rabbia collettiva è la cura.

The noise is the moment that follows the spark. Let's come together. Let's touch each other. We are electric bodies. The energy fueled by anger flows through us. The slightest touch will set off the explosion. Collective anger is the cure.

ep.4 sotto terra, frammenti

Il Vulcanello Cenerone, orgoglio dell'Abruzzo, altro non è che una fessura nel suolo a pochi metri dall'uscita autostradale, che sputa continuamente fanghiglia. La popolazione di Pineto (in provincia di Teramo), n'è affezionata. 

Beata, nella prima mezz'ora dello show indaga, tra suoni tartassati e gorgoglii lamentosi, quello che secondo lei succede dentro il cratere umido e gassoso del vulcanello di fango. 

Io, nella seconda mezz'ora, come il micro-ambiente circostante al vulcanello subisce le interferenze di questa pozzetta fangosa. 

Dalle descrizioni il Cenerone, così come tutti gli altri vulcani di fango, sono dei fenomeni pseudovulcani . 

Ep. 4: Underground, Fragments

The Vulcanello Cenerone, the pride of Abruzzo, is nothing more than a crack in the ground just a few meters from the highway exit, constantly spewing mud. The people of Pineto (in the province of Teramo) are quite attached to it.

Beata, in the first half-hour of the show, investigates—amidst rattling sounds and mournful gurgles—what they believes is happening inside the damp, gassy crater of the mud volcano.

I, in the second half-hour, explore how the micro-environment surrounding the Vulcanello is affected by this muddy pool.

From the descriptions, Cenerone, like all other mud volcanoes, is a pseudo-volcanic phenomenon.

Go tell that to an ant.

Ep. 3 È tutto un casino

 Il 22 aprile 2015 vulcano Calbuco, nel sud del Chile, erutta. Lo fa in maniera inaspettata, non aveva mostrato nessun segno in precedenza. Trema un pochino un paio di ore prima. 

e poi sbam. Esplosione, Gigante.

Ep. 3 It's all a mess

 On April 22, 2015, the Calbuco volcano in southern Chile erupts. It does so unexpectedly, having shown no signs beforehand. It trembles a little a couple of hours earlier. 

And then boom. An explosion. A giant one.

Ep.2 Voler Essere Dimenticati

Il vulcano Zuidwal, nei Paesi Bassi, vorrebbe essere soltanto dimenticato. Zuidwal non si fa vedere, non si fa sentire. Riposa sul fondale del mare dei Wadden, un gigante addormentato e silenzioso. La sua ultima eruzione risale a 150 milioni d'anni fa. Dopo quel fatto, nessuno era più al corrente della sua  esistenza. Almeno fino al 1970, dove venne riscoperto da degli scienziati, e iniziato a trivellare per poter estrarre del gas naturale utilizzato per riscaldare gli edifici. 

Voleva solo essere dimenticato, ma pure da morto le persone continuano a tenerlo in vita; chi estraendo il suo gas naturale, e chi beffeggiandosi di lui sul web. Se cercate questo vulcano su Google Maps potrete trovare centinaia di recensioni, con fotografie annesse (fotografie di altri vulcani, intenti a eruttare). 

"Che meraviglia sciogliere i marshmallow sulla lava fresca qui! Assicuratevi di portare uno spiedino extra lungo, perché la lava è caldissima" -5 stelle

"We got a combi-deal with our tickets to the Van Gogh museum. But when we arrived in Harlingen we were told the ferry to the volcano only operates during the summer season and it was April so we were pretty upset. I had been looking forward to visiting the beach cabin where Van Gogh lived during his first depression. At least we got to see the volcano through the coin-operated telescope at the harbor"  -3 stelle

Zuidwal voleva solo essere dimenticato. 

Ep.2 Wanting to be forgotten

The Zuidwal volcano in the Netherlands just wants to be forgotten. Zuidwal is nowhere to be seen or heard. It rests on the seabed of the Wadden Sea, a silent, sleeping giant. Its last eruption was 150 million years ago. After that, no one was aware of its existence. At least until 1970, when it was rediscovered by scientists, who began drilling to extract natural gas used to heat buildings.

It just wanted to be forgotten, but even in death, people continue to keep it alive; some by extracting its natural gas, others by mocking it on the web. If you search for this volcano on Google Maps, you will find hundreds of reviews with accompanying photographs (photographs of other volcanoes erupting).

“How wonderful to melt marshmallows on the fresh lava here! Be sure to bring an extra-long skewer, because the lava is very hot” -5 stars.

il vulcano Kīlauea, situato sull'isola di Hawaii ha avuto una lunga fase di eruzione, iniziata il giorno precedente, con fontane di lava alte fino a 180 metri. è durata per 12 ore consecutive. alle 7 e 06 del mattino si interrompe.

Svizzera, 26 febbraio 2025

quel giorno a Berna,  alle 7 del mattino mi sveglio e vado a scuola. dopo un paio di ore me ne vado dalla classe, non riuscivo a stare li. cammino per tornare a casa, e nel tragitto scrivo un messaggio a un caro amico, dicendo: penso di voler lasciare l'università.

mi risponde con : fanculo, fallo. 

lo feci.

the Kīlauea volcano, located on the island of Hawaii, had a long eruption phase, which began the previous day, with lava fountains up to 180 meters high. it lasted for 12 consecutive hours. at 7:06 a.m., it stopped.

Switzerland, February 26, 2025

that day in Bern, I woke up at 7 a.m. and went to school. after a couple of hours, I left the classroom because I couldn't stand being there. I walked home, and on the way, I wrote a message to a dear friend, saying, “I think I want to leave university.”

he replied, “fuck it, do it.”

and so I did. 

that day, I realized my growth.
